|
Jonathan Holl Holl plays widely as a recitalist and accompanist. His principal teachers were Dr Harold Darke and Douglas Hawkridge, (Senior Professor, Royal Academy of Music). He studied harmony and composition with the blind musician Dr Frederick Emery. In addition he has received tuition from among others, Piet Kee, André Isoir and Dame Gillian Weir, whilst attending the International Summer Organ Conservatoire in France. He has given recitals on prestigious classical organs in both the North and South of France. He has held organist appointments at St Anne's Church, Bagshot and at the Royal Memorial Chapel, RMA Sandhurst. He directs the Verona Singers which he founded in 1993 and who perform mainly at Christmas time for charity. As President of the Berkshire Organists' Association he is highly involved with the promotion of the famous Father Willis concert organ (newly restored under the auspices of English Heritage) in Reading Town Hall. Having retired a few years ago from British Airways as a Senior Captain, he finds it a pleasure to have more time for music making! November 2005 |
