CATHERINE LLOYD gained a BA (Hons) in Music in 1996 and an MA in Musicology in 1997 from the University of Southampton.

She is currently studying full-time for a Ph.D in Musicology at King's College, London where she is working on compositional process in late thirteenth and early fourteenth century French Polyphony.

Originally a pianist, Catherine became interested in the harpsichord and its repertoire as an undergraduate. Although the harpsichord has now become her principal instrument she still enjoys piano accompaniment.

The harpsichord is her own - a Franco-Flemish double manual after Blanchet/Couchet by Richard Shann, 1985 with 2 x 8ft and 1 x 4ft registers.
