GAVIN
ROBERTS' interest in the organ began as a chorister at Magdalen
College, Oxford. As head chorister, he received lessons from Magnus
Williamson, at the University Church. In 1995 he won a music
scholarship to Bradfield College, where he continued to study organ
under Peter Jaekal, as well as piano and clarinet.
For the past two years he has been making regular
visits to Winchester Cathedral for organ lessons with Stephen
Farr.
He has been a regular accompanist and conductor of choirs at
Bradfield and has frequently played at St. Mary's, Shaw.
Having moved to Datchet, with his family, in June
1999, he now regularly plays in churches in the borough of Windsor
and Maidenhead.
In October 1999, he takes up an Organ Scholarship
at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge.
