Simon was Organ Scholar at Chichester Cathedral from 1982 until 1985, before moving to become Director of Music and Assistant Organist at Reigate St. Mary’s Choir School in 1986. Whilst there, Simon accompanied the choir for its daily services and in concerts, recordings and broadcasts. He also combined the post with that of Organist of St. Mary’s Parish Church and accompanist to Reigate and Redhill Choral Society. Simon also undertook tours of the USA, Ireland and Germany as accompanist to a variety of choirs and broadcast on BBC radio. In January 1998, Simon was appointed Deputy Head of Crosfields School, Reading. He remains busy as an organist and choral accompanist. Simon is Guest Accompanist of the Dorset-based chamber choir The Orlando Singers and accompanist to the Berkshire-based chamber choir Cantores. He is also a regular accompanist for The Romsey Singers. Simon is a Team Organist at S. Mark’s Church, Swindon New Town and is currently standing-in as conductor of the Wellington College-based Crowthorne Choral Society. September 2003 |
