David Sidwell was educated at Reading School where he studied organ and piano with Fred Griffin. On starting an Electrical Engineering Degree course at university in Birmingham he was appointed assistant organist at Moseley Parish Church. One of his first tasks in this post was to play for the live BBC 1 Christmas Morning broadcast. He has subsequently held several organist posts locally including this church and now operates freelance, playing regularly in many West Berkshire churches. He is accompanist to the nomadic choirs In Ecclesia and Schola Cantorum who perform regularly in many of the country's cathedrals.
